About Us
The New Mexico Eventing Association is a 501(c)(3) that was founded in 2024 to promote the sport of eventing in New Mexico. We are passionate about providing affordable showing and educational opportunities to the equestrian community. We are dedicated to maintaining and improving New Mexico's only public cross country course, located at the Boca Negra Horseman's Complex in Albuquerque.

Meet The Team

Anna Algermissen - Co-Founder
Anna Algermissen is a New Mexico native, growing up on a horse farm in the south valley of Albuquerque. She spent her youth riding/training young horses and participated in Pony Club achieving her “B” rating. She completed her bachelor’s degree at the University of New Mexico while competing in show jumping to the grand prix level and training client horses. After completing her undergraduate degree, she went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis. Although she enjoyed her time in California, she is a New Mexican at heart and moved back to practice veterinary medicine in Albuquerque. She continues to breed, train, show, and sell sport horses with her mother Holly Dietz at their farm in Albuquerque.

Annamarie Curtin - Co-Founder
Annamarie Curtin grew up in the East Mountains, eventing throughout her childhood. She was an active participant in Pony Club earning her "HB" rating. She completed her bachelor's degree at the United States Military Academy and commissioned into the US Army. The Army took her to CO, TN, VA, and Kosovo. Annamarie continued to ride horses and event during her 7 years of service. She received her Master of Science in Supply Chain Management from MSU, and returned home to New Mexico in 2023. She lives in Santa Fe and competes her horse, Kermit, in horse trials throughout the country.

Holly Dietz - Co-Founder
Holly Dietz a fourth generation New Mexican, growing up in Albuquerque on a farm in the North valley. She attended New Mexico State University where she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and continued on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University. Holly spent her entire life in the horse industry from Competitive Trail riding, reining, show jumping and now dressage. Holly has run a boarding, training and breeding operation in the South Valley for the last 25 years and her daughter, Anna, joined her in running the operation the last 15 years.
